Economic Development Coordinator
Christie Rock is the economic development coordinator for the City of Norwood Young America. She is responsible for facilitating economic development and redevelopment projects for the City, including marketing and promoting the Tacoma West Industrial Park.
Christie has an MA degree in Public Administration, from Minnesota State University – Mankato, and a BA in Government from the College of St. Benedict. She is in the process of completing a Doctorate degree in Public Administration from Hamline University
Christie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She is also certified by the National Development Council as an Economic Development Finance Professional.
Her previous work experience includes serving as the economic development coordinator for the St. Cloud Area Economic Development Partnership, the director of economic development for the City of Hutchinson and executive director of the Longfellow Community Council, a Minneapolis neighborhood organization.

Community Development Director
Chelsea Alger is the community development director for the City of Norwood Young America. She oversees the planning and zoning, building inspections and code enforcement departments.
Prior to coming to Norwood Young America in 2006, she was a city planner for the cities of Jordan, Watertown and Mayer.
Chelsea holds a BA degree in Biology from Augsburg College, a MA degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Minnesota State University at Mankato and just finished an accounting degree at Augsburg College.
She is a member of the American Planning Association, the Urban Land Institute and has previously served as an adjunct faculty member for the Department of Urban Studies at Minnesota State University.
